Town & Country's New Leader
January 11, 2008
NEW YORK) Heidi Mitchell has been given a significant promotion at Town & Country—to editor-in-chief of Town & Country Travel and Town & Country Weddings. Mitchell, who served as editor of the Hearst title’s offshoot travel and weddings issues since October 2006, has now been given top billing over Town & Country Travel and Town & Country Weddings, which are published quarterly and biannually, respectively. She remains features and travel editor of the flagship title.
Pamela Fiori had served as editor-in-chief of both issues since their inception in 2003 as extensions to Town & Country, which she will continue to be editor-in-chief of. “This means that Heidi will assume more responsibility for the operation of our specials and for her staff,” Fiori said in a memo. “I will continue to work with Heidi and her team, but no longer on a day-to-day basis.”
Mitchell replaced Melissa Biggs Bradley, who left Town & Country in July 2006. She had been an editor at American Express Publishing’s Travel + Leisure for the past six years, and before that, an associate editor at Rolling Stone.
