Gov't to Seek Balanced Development

President Lee Myung-bak says he has no plans to push for unconditional deregulation of the capital area.
In a policy briefing by the local government of North Chungcheong Province Tuesday, the president said that he will ensure that the planned deregulation for the capital region will not impede regional development.
Mr. Lee also stressed the need to accelerate regional development, saying that the nation cannot achieve the goal of a per capita income of 40-thousand dollars within ten years simply by focusing on the development of the capital region.
