A U.S.-based Korean missionary group has established a general hospital in North Korea.

Voice of America said Thursday that the hospital founded in Rajin, North Hamgyeong Province can accommodate some 100 patients. The hospital launched operations on June tenth.

The hospital’s medical staff is primarily retired Korean Americans who had practiced in the U.S.

Doctors will stay at the hospital for two to three months to provide medical services and transfer advanced medicine to North Korean doctors.
