WKBL Awards and Fashion Show
April 18, 2008 One Chosun Ilbo photographer attended the Women’s Korean Basketball League awards ceremony and put together a post about it as if it were a fashion show. Photos are at the blog.
The rare sight of women basketball players wearing street clothes rather than uniforms and basketball shoes and strutting in high heels was something to see. Their pointy high heels caused them to teeter-totter a bit but their brightly-made up faces showed off their womanliness and their height made the clothes all the more attractive.
The top 7 fashionistas from the WKBL strode onto the red carpet that night. So who was the MVP?
First was Yang Jeong-ok, leader in three-pointers. There was nothing ordinary about her clothes or walking style. For me she was the MVP.
The best 5 included Byeon Yeon-ha of the champion Samsung Life Insurance, and the minimal white appearance of Jeong Jang-yi was refreshing.
The best 5 and style award went to Samsung’s Lee Mi-seon. Her concept was really cute. Asked her impressions of the award she said, “I’m very thankful to the players on the six teams who couldn’t stop from stealing the ball,” as charming as a fox.
The winner of the media star award was Woori Bank’s Kim Eun-hye. She looked really pretty but I wasn’t able to get a good picture of her…
The heroine of a surprise dance performance was Kim Bo-mi of Woori. Beneath the swishes of her chopped-up top emanated the sexiness of her sculpted body. She also competed for the top prize.
Then there was blocked-shot leader Lee Jong-ae of Samsung. The tallest of the athletes, her height and thin body really made her look like a fashion model.
The assist award went to Shinhan Bank’s Jeon Ju-won. The 36-year old mother of a youg daughter showed her unchanged appearance off to unbelievable good effect. Her modestness and natural beauty were fashionable and impressive.
Who do you think is the top WKBL red-carpet fashionista?
(Did you say you can’t choose?)
