July 11, 2008
Two kidnap-for-ransom suspects were arrested by Rizal province policemen in an operation in Quezon City, Thursday night.
Senior Superintendent Ireneo Dordas, Rizal police chief, named the suspects as Joey Jose and John Mark Bautista. He said the two are among the Philippine National Police’s most wanted persons.
Dordas said the suspects were arrested in an operation on Litex Road Thursday night. He said the two have standing warrants of arrest for the abduction of a Chinese Filipino businessman in Tuguegarao City in Cagayan province.
The warrants were issued by Judge Marivic Cacatian of the Tuguegarao Regional Trial Court Branch 03.
Dordas said Jose’s wife, Yolanda, was also arrested for attempting to bribe policemen with P150,000 in exchange for her husband’s freedom.
The three were taken to the Rizal Police Provincial Office in Taytay town for detention.
